33RD ICA WORLD COOPERATIVE CONGRESS: Cooperators from across the globe met in
Seoul, the Republic of Korea for the 33rd International Cooperative Alliance
(ICA) World Cooperative Congress from 1 to 3 December 2021. It was a hybrid
event with participants attending in-person and online.
WORLD COOPERATIVE MONITOR 2021 LAUNCHED: The 10th edition of the World Cooperative
Monitor (WCM) 2021 was launched on 30 November during a dedicated session ahead
of the World Cooperative Congress in Seoul. The WCM is published by the
International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) with the scientific and technical
support of the European Research Institute on Cooperative and Social
Enterprises (Euricse). The Top 300 cooperatives and mutual enterprises (CMEs)
report a total turnover of 2,180 billion USD, based on 2019 financial data.
CICOPA ASIA-PACIFIC NETWORK LAUNCHED: CICOPA is the International Organisation of
Industrial and Service Cooperatives, a sector organisation of the ICA since
1947. The CICOPA Asia-Pacific network was launched at the CICOPA General
Assembly, held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, ahead of the 33rd World Cooperative
Congress. The network will explore the common identity, exchange information,
create synergies and strengthen the development of industrial and service
cooperatives.
ICA-AP REGIONAL BOARD MEETING: The ICA-AP held its Regional Board Meeting
on 29 November 2021 in Seoul, Republic of Korea in a hybrid manner. Mr. Li
Chunsheng, Chairperson of the Regional Board extended a warm welcome to the
board members who joined from China, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Malaysia,
Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, and Sri Lanka.

ICA-AP REGIONAL ASSEMBLY: The 15th
ICA-AP Regional Assembly was held in Seoul, Republic of Korea on 30 November
2021 in a hybrid manner in conjunction with the World Cooperative Congress. The
assembly discussed the administrative issues and conducted elections of the new
ICA-AP Regional Board. The hybrid assembly was attended by more than 130
participants from 20 countries.
